For Iraq and Syria
For six years the Syrian civil war has ravaged a country, killing thousands and displacing millions of people from their homeland. This devastating loss of life has ripped apart a land which holds some of the most important heritage sites in the world. Civil war has left no stone unturned and Syria’s six Unesco World Heritage Sites face extinction from barbaric vandals threatening to destroy them forever. Standing for thousands of years, Syria’s sacred cities span the dawn of civilisation. If the destruction of the last four years continue, their loss will become a stain on humanity’s failure.
